Dear Member
The Covid-19 virus is here and the National lockdown will be commencing soon, changing the world as we know it and challenging us all.

We know that for the fight against this pandemic to succeed, we all need to do our part.

As your medical aid providers, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and you, our members.

We have put measures in place to ensure that you are supported and that we can continue to provide you with the peace of mind you deserve when considering your healthcare needs.

We want to reassure you:

·         We are classified under the exemption from lockdown as health workers in the public and private sectors, healthcare providers and other persons necessary for the country’s response to the pandemic.

·         We will remain in operation throughout this crisis and you will be able to follow the same authorisation, claiming and payment processes you are familiar with.

·         Be assured that customer care remains a key part of our daily business and we will continue to keep you informed by leveraging all the technologies at our disposal.

We strongly encourage you to email or contact us via web instead of visiting us.  As part of our health and safety precautions, we are restricting access to our offices, and also arranging for many employees to work from home where possible.
Therefore, in order to manage call centre volumes the following digital engagements are in place:

·         Our call centre is contactable via email and the scheme website contact page

·         Visit www.medimed.co.za

·         Whatsapp us on  whatsapp number

·         Install the Hello Doctor app on your mobile device via the app store or visit www.hellodoctor.co.za

Our clinicians advise that you seek medical care early. Stay at home if you feel unwell, even if your symptoms are mild. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, reach out to Hello Doctor immediately and speak to their doctors anytime (24/7) about your own personal concerns, what you should do and where you can be tested if need be.
Please be assured of our continued commitment to you during this global crisis.

Stay safe and well,

Medimed Medical Scheme
